Program Description

In 2001, Sun Yat-sen University was among the first 24 pilot Chinese universities to recruit MPA students. It is also where Prof. Shuzhang Xia is working. He is a pioneer and founder of China's contemporary public administration discipline and is also honored as the "father of MPA" in China.

The MPA program at SYSU is committed to cultivating high-level, inter-disciplinary and application-oriented individuals with a global vision and knowledge of good governance. Since its enrollment in 2001, the program has remained at the forefront of MPA programs in China with a long-standing and growing level of discipline, strong faculty, high-level of academic research. Adhering to the school’s idea and spirit of “Good Governance Lifts the World, Good Governance Lifts China”, the MPA program at SYSU has become one of the most valuable and competitive MPA programs in China.
